Maya Pet Identity

Maya Pet's journey began when founder Richard Breunig observed that the same anthrobiotic supplement intended for livestock health could also be tailored and given to household pets with remarkable results. The benefits were astonishing – from heightened immunity and resilience against illness to improved gut health – paralleling the transformative journey of Somaya Life. Maya Pet's narrative mirrors its human counterpart, Somaya Life, as a beacon of transformative well-being for pets. With the intention to elevate pet wellness, he engaged with Quill to create a new brand identity for Maya Pet that stood on its own but still felt in line with the Somaya Life product line.

The challenge was twofold: to encapsulate Maya Pet's unique essence and align its brand story with its sister supplement, Somaya Life. Like Somaya Life, Maya Pet’s competitors were chasing very specific demographics, typically products aimed at only one type of animal. Because Maya Pet is safe and effective for all pets, our team set out to create an identity that showcased Maya Pet’s versatility in addressing common pain points for pet owners, as well as establishing its connection with its human counterpart, Somaya Life.

After channeling the the etymological roots of the Greek word "soma," which means “body,” into the Somaya Life identity, we extended this concept into the Maya Life brand, incorporating similar mosaic and archaic elements reminiscent of Greek antiquity as those that adorned Somaya Life's branding onto the canvas of Maya Pet. Maya Pet also needed to stand alone as its own unique product, so our designers created a new color palette of deeper and more vivid neutrals and blues that evokes the lively and vibrant nature of our pets.

Because Maya Pet is safe and effective for all pets, our team set out to create an identity that showcased Maya Pet’s versatility in addressing common pain points for pet owners, as well as establishing its connection with its human counterpart, Somaya Life.
